New Membership

Eligible veterans applying for first-time membership must submit the following information to the Post Membership Committee:

1. Complete American Legion Membership Application.
   Print two (2) completed copies.  Keep one copy for your records. 
   Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge.
    
2. Pay the membership dues (amount shown on application).  Please make checks payable to our Post listed above.  DO NOT SEND CASH.
    
3. Mail one copy of the printed Membership Application, a copy of your DD214 or other official proof of honorable military service, and your check or money order for dues to the post address listed above.
    
4. If the information is correct, membership will be approved, and then a membership card will be mailed to you.
    
5. Please see eligibility dates below.  

Transfers

Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to our Post must submit the following:

1. Complete American Legion Membership Application.
   Print two (2) completed copies.  Keep one copy for your records.
    
2. Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge, or other official proof of honorable military service.  
    
3. Provide a copy of your membership card, or your membership number, and the year that your dues are current.  
    
4. Mail one copy of the printed Membership Application, a copy of your DD214 or other official proof of honorable military service, a copy of your membership card, and your check or money order for dues to the post address listed above.  
    
5. Payment of membership dues if the current year's dues are not paid.  If the current dues are paid, please pay next year's membership dues.

ELIGIBILITY DATES

Membership Requirements
An individual is eligible for membership in The American Legion if the individual has served in the Armed Forces of the United States at any time during

• the period of April 6, 1917, through November 11, 1918;
• any time after December 7, 1941.

Because eligibility dates remain open, all members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.

Must have served at least one day of active military duty during one of the dates below and honorably discharged or still serving honorably. :
